Taipei International Choral Festival (TICF) is the most prestigious and extensive choral carnival held annually by Taipei Philharmonic Foundation in the end of July. Every year, several outstanding choirs around the world as well as excellent local artists gather in Taipei to appeals to not only tens of thousands of local audiences but also a great number of choral fans from south-east Asia to the United States.
This year, we are honor to introduce Cantemus Mixed Choir ( Hungary), The Choir of St Mary´s Cathedral ( Edinburgh, UK ) , Dresden Philharmonic Children´s Choir ( Germany ) , OMMM ( France ) and APZ Tone Tomšič ( Slovenia )to choral music lovers. With their fascinating repertoires and excellent singing skills, participants will experience the heavenly voices rarely heard in East Asia. Every evening during 24th to 31st July 2011, concerts featuring the performing groups mentioned above welcome you to enjoy the fabulous multicultural atmosphere they bring to us.
Furthermore, in the opening concert on 24th July, Taipei Philharmonic Chorus and Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchesra will present Lars-Erik Larsson's A God Disguised conducted by the world renowned conductor, Fred Sjöberg( Sweden ). In final concert on 31st July, Festival Choir will present David Fanshawe: African Sanctus led by prestigious conductor Gábor Hollerung ( Hungary ).
